Nécrovortex is the second full-length by Québec City death metal band Outre-Tombe, released October 17, 2018. The principal CD edition was issued by Temple of Mystery Records, with the label's vinyl edition following on December 28. The recording lineup was Crachat on vocals and bass, Cobra and Désastre on guitars, and Vitesse on drums.

The album was recorded between March and May 2018 at Holywaves Studio in Saint-Tite-des-Caps, Québec; release credits identify Olivier Vaillancourt-Girard as recording engineer, with no separate producer credit consistently documented. Sonically, Nécrovortex uses a deliberately raw, organic production: heavily saturated rhythm guitars, prominent bass, dry forceful drums and low guttural French vocals. The riffing alternates fast tremolo and thrash-derived passages with slower, syncopated death-metal grooves and double-bass-driven sections. Rather than modern high-gain separation, the mix keeps the instruments compressed toward the front, producing a dense late-'80s/early-'90s death-metal character while retaining enough definition for the album's tightly constructed riff changes.

Aseptic, a death metal band from San Jose, California formed in 2014, released the Senses Decay EP in 2018 as a self-release (digital/CD circa December 1). Redefining Darkness Records reissued it on cassette on March 8, 2019. The lineup was the two-piece of Philip Cortez IV (guitars, vocals) and Luis Guardado (drums), with no bass player. Audio was produced, mixed and mastered at Brainsplitter Studios in Oakland, California.

The EP contains four tracks totaling approximately 10:18: Cessation, Disposed Remains, Senses Decay and Never Rest. It delivers raw old-school death metal combining mid-tempo grooves, early Cannibal Corpse-style riffing and up-tempo thrash sections, captured in a putrid, unpolished production.

Death Revival is the second full-length by Greek death metal band Abyssus, released on January 21, 2022 via Transcending Obscurity Records. The lineup consisted of Konstantinos Analytis (vocals), Panos Gkourmpaliotis (guitars), Chris Liakos (guitars), Konstantinos Ragiadakos (bass), and Jan Westermann (drums). Artwork was created by Andreas Marschall.

The album was recorded at Unreal Studios in Athens, with the band handling mixing and mastering. It presents old-school death metal rooted in late-1980s/early-1990s styles, featuring thrash-infused riffs, mid-tempo grooves, occasional doom passages, and raw rasping vocals. Production emphasizes a warm, analog-leaning tone with prominent guitars and driving percussion across its seven tracks and 33-minute runtime.

Aleister Cowboy, a death metal outfit from Fort Collins, Colorado formed in 2023, released their third EP, Neolithic Blood Rites, through Iron Fortress Records. Digital release date was August 22, 2025, with CD and cassette formats following October 15, 2025; the physical CD edition functions as a 13-track compilation pairing the four new EP cuts with prior material. The four-song tracklist comprises "Leachate of Abandoned Gods," "Liquefied Bodies Scraped From a Tub," "Tireless Autosarcophagy," and closer "Pools of Ancient Dead."

The EP was tracked and mixed by Trae Roberts at Like Minded Company, marking the band's third session at that studio, with mastering handled by Pete Grossman at Bricktop Recording. Reported lineup at time of release: Matty Steven (vocals, guitars, bass), Rhaina Brooks (guitars), and Collin Galloway (drums, vocals). Musically, the release combines groove-driven death metal riffing with an occult, dust-caked tone, drawing comparisons to Torture-era Cannibal Corpse guitar work paired with more technical, Undeath-style vocal phrasing.

Intrepid, a death metal band from Tallinn, Estonia, released the EP Slaying of Sanity/Murder of Mind on January 5, 2023 via Knife Fight Media. The five-track release features two original studio tracks, a cover of “Lifestyle” by Estonian band Aggressor, a short instrumental, and a live recording. Lineup on the EP: Raiko Rajalaane (vocals), Simo Atso (guitar), Villem Eplik (guitar, vocals), Siim Soodla (bass), and Madis Kaljurand (drums). Guest bass on “Mesmerism” by Steve Di Giorgio.
