Assuming the Godform is the debut full-length album by Wisconsin-based death metal outfit Experiment Fear, released in 1995 via Massacre Records. Following their 1993 demo Fool's Paradise, the record features a lineup consisting of vocalist/guitarist Phil DesLauriers, guitarist Scott Ebbens, bassist Joe Schermitzler, and drummer Jon Griesbach. Notable within the band's history is the early involvement of guitarist Jeff Loomis, who appeared on previous demos before departing to join Nevermore.

The album was recorded and mixed digitally at Wave Digital Studios in Gurnee, Illinois, with production handled by Brian Griffin, known for his work with Broken Hope. Musically, the release is often compared to the Floridian scene, specifically Deicide, though it incorporates melodic solos and acoustic interludes such as "Thy Flesh Is Weak." Guest vocals on the tracks "Jester Of The Anxious" and "Compelled" were provided by Joe Ptacek of Broken Hope. Despite its cult status in the underground, the band's activity waned after subsequent promos, leaving this record as their primary legacy in mid-90s American death metal.

Come Ethereal Somberness, the debut full-length album by Danish blackened death metal band Taphos from Copenhagen, released on 8 June 2018 via Blood Harvest Records and co-presented by Regain Records & Helter Skelter Productions, follows their two demos and one EP as the fourth release overall. The four-piece lineup features Ugur Yildirim on drums, Mathias Friborg on guitars, Andreas Nielson (D.) on guitars, and Hampus Wahlgren (H.) on vocals and bass. Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Ballade Studios. Stylistic elements draw from Incantation, Portal, Phrenelith, and Hyperdontia. Tracklist spans nine songs: Letum, Impending Peril, Thrive in Upheaval, Ocular Blackness, A Manifest of Trepidation, Dysfori, Insidious Gyres, Livores, Obitum. Ecocide is the debut full-length by Dutch Polluted Inheritance, released in November 1992 on Morbid Music (originally via West Virginia Records). Hailing from Terneuzen, Zeeland, the band delivered technical death metal with the core lineup of Ronald Camonier (vocals, guitars), Erwin Wesdorp (guitars), Menno de Fouw (bass), and Friso van Wijck (drums).

Recorded, mixed, and mastered at Stage 1 Studio in Buhne, Germany, and produced by Andy Classen (with Raymond Tabak). The album blends influences from early Death and Massacre with technical elements akin to Atheist, Cynic, and Pestilence. It features 11 tracks (including the short instrumental title closer) totaling under 39 minutes, with artwork by Danny van Nes. Reissues have appeared on Vic Records in recent years.
