Notes
A Handful of Nothing is the second full-length by Swedish band Ebony Tears, released in 1999 on Black Sun Records (catalog BS17) as a CD. Lineup consisted of Conny Jonsson (guitars, bass) and Johnny Wranning (vocals), with session/guest contributions from Richard Evensand (drums) and Lennart Glenberg (violin on one track).
The album was recorded at Studio Underground in Västerås, Sweden, produced by Pelle Saether, and mastered by Peter Indebeto (Peter In de Betou) at Cutting Room, Stockholm. Cover art was by Kenneth Johansson. Runtime is 30:35 across eight tracks. The sound shifts toward aggressive melodic death/thrash with prominent thrash-influenced riffing, rasping vocals, heavy double-bass drumming, and reduced violin presence compared to the prior release, emphasizing speed, density, and direct aggression over melodic ornamentation.
