Midian is the sole full-length by Cabal, a Death/Thrash Metal project of Killjoy (Necrophagia) from Wellsville, Ohio, United States. Recorded September 18th–October 12th 1990 at Morrisound Recording in Tampa but shelved and finally released in 2000 on Red Stream, Inc. as a digipak CD (catalog RSR-0143). The five-piece lineup featured Killjoy (R.I.P. 2018) — vocals, Dave Gilliland — guitars, Mark Wolfe — guitars, Rob Albaneso — bass, Paxton House — drums. Cover artwork by Mike Riddick (also Necrophagia), logo by his brother Mark Riddick. Tracks: Images in Blood, Midian, Dark Desires, God Complex, Past Sins, Khaos Theory, Nocturnal Reign. The title and band name reference Clive Barker's novel Cabal and the hidden monster city of Midian from Nightbreed. Later reissued on vinyl by Dark Descent Records (2016) and remastered CD by VIC Records (2019/2022) as a tribute following Killjoy's death. It occupies a cult underground position among old-school US death/thrash fans for its punishing riffs and horror atmosphere.
