Additional

Into the Crypt is a self-released six-track debut recorded in May 1994 at Harrow Productions in Losser, Netherlands, co-produced by the band and originally mastered by Bernard Bod. Sonically it occupies a heavily rhythm-forward position in the Dutch death/thrash hybrid tradition — raw but intelligible guitar tone, unusually prominent bass for the genre, restrained blast-beat usage, and an overwhelming emphasis on riff construction over technical display — placing it stylistically adjacent to Thanatos and late-era Messiah rather than the Florida or Gothenburg scenes. The 1994 lineup of Heuverhorst and Hemink (guitars), ten Broeke (bass), Brink (drums), and Wenneker (vocals) recorded what remained an almost entirely buried release until dual reissues by Dark Symphonies and The Crypt in 2016 brought it to wider underground attention, cementing its status as one of the most substantive overlooked artifacts of the early-90s Dutch extreme metal scene.

Tracklist

1. And Jesus Wept...(Intro) – 00:45

2. Crypt – 02:52 >
The dungeons opened Confront me The blaze burns my eyes Forsake me. Sworn secrecy House of death. Bound by promise Approval of signature See where Christ’s blood, Is streaming in the firmament. In remembrance Praise of lust. Trivial memories Be wiped out. Cold is the sight Yet intense heat. Visions now seen Behold the fucking crypt. A silence disturbed, breath the foul and Dark air Below the known lands Welcomes me a place even worse than Death. Insane I have become In this shit my life is done. Repentance is just a word Now, when my soul is deadly hurt
3. Beneath the Shades – 03:32 >
As the sunlight has dimmed Appear, moons with thousand faces. Beg gathered within my mind I will summon the ancient ones Encounter manifestations of the unholy Lead its strays in their way. Thou, gods of the darkside, awake And perform on me, beneath the shades. Rite of shades, be spoken In your presence I shall reside. Screen me through strange dimensions Open the ways to secret knowledge Show me the hidden oder in chaos Make me known to the roots of life Don’t resist, hear their voices when they Speak I speak now in tongues The evil ones prevail. Sodom, burnt down in wraith of God I resist the scorching flames. Process, thou ghost go death. Stare over mountains of madness Dark stars gloom in the bright sky. See the silenced sheep far away With the swallowing abyss inbetween. See the echoes repeating The haunted visions from the altar. Immortality within reach When you speak the rite of shades
4. Oxidized – 03:34 >
Ionizing the blood-corpuscles Haemorrhage is the be liquidated, Medieval odours unleashed As the unquenchable fire digests ‘Subtley’ in perforating a corpse Fire-enzymes, the now consume the Pulp. All eroded innards are exterminated Sockdologer before a fried death. Mouth-cavity swollen by gaseous pus. The bubbling methanic fumes gather. Soon I’ll be reduced to carbon-dioxides. Sustain the chemical metamorphosis A steril tomb of charred remains Oxidized Inflammation of the bursten red eyes Unrestainable pressure on the Tymphanitis Analyse the physical substance A thermodynamic increase of entropy. Eating the mucous secretion as dessert Complications grow worse a the flames Devour.
5. The Days You Worshipped Me – 06:33 >
As the mist magnifies The naive shelter of My mind. The stable statue I once was A distance is now inbetween Staring at the present Fully estranged from life Dogmatic dignity assumed. Ornaments of My church Now are shattered By great disbelief. But I am your God Cursed thou shall be. My creation lost Alienation it grew The swelling of blackness. The dying of a day Isd the end of a world Containing the death of a God. See the morningstar in the sky All My light is blackened. When the dawn is rising Fair becomes foul, and foul becomes fair. Solemn I will withdraw The abyss will swallow you. Underestimation of Evil Seduced by the Lord of Darkness. My last chapter with mankind How sad and depressed I am. Melancholy, when I recall The days you worshipped Me. My Might has become paralyzed By the denial of My existence. The Satan I once created Blamed Me for My mistakes. Rebellion against My authority You won’t be shone upon no more
6. The Indoctrinated Ones – 03:54 >
Sunday morning sets The church bells they toll. A cross in the sky See the rainbow alight. Converting the elected ones Before judgement day arrives. Awaiting for your God to come. Mutual inspiration to pray Insinuated appearance of love. Die, the indoctrinated ones. Below the beautiful surface Blackened waters, hypocrisy. Clerical opinions clash Children can’t conceive. The unity in Christ Is now blast. By holy verses tied Distanced from any discussion. Chains of freed made fly Its key along with the truth. Life’s crossroads Denied weakness. Obey biblical orders Anachronistic practice. No affection Abolishing Holy Commands. Be banished to eternity You fucking preacher of benefit.
7. Bless Me When I Die – 04:18 >
Frozen tears Face God’s throne A world lost Quest for home. Passing by No more fright. Spill the blood Leave the final sight. The call not yet received But the lord of death will come to take Me. A flash in black Claws of death Taking off My mortal coil. Final scream Bloodstained dagger Feel the relief Approach the silence. Flee the intense pain Flee the suffering Flee the suffocation Fleet the decadence. Bless me when I die. Transcending, end mortality Cross death’s doors, ritual of dying. No reconciliation, but intense hate Slow annihilation, world grows cold.

8. Crucifixion (Outro) – 00:34

Total length: 26:02
